Cork Chess club donates €300 to 96FM's Cork 4 Kids Radiothon !

Joint winners for this years club championship

Congratulations to Steve Short & Paul Walsh who finished joint first on 6/7 in this years club championship. John Donoghue was third. Prize giving will be after end of season blitz Friday 28th May. Other winners were: Tom Hickey (David v Goliath), Grading prizes to David O Kelly, Anne Coughlan, Keegan O Mahony and Angus Gill.

Cork Success at Kilkenny Congress 2009

Well done to Keegan O'Mahoney who won the challengers section with Peter Doyle 3rd. Congrats to the clubs blitz kingpin Len Hackett  who placed 3rd in the James Mason with Michael Bradley getting a grading prize. Kieran O'Riordan, Pat Twomey and Hugh Doyle all held their own in the loftier heights of Majors and Masters respectively. A new radio show will be commencing this weekend on 87.7FM. Cork chess will be providing updates and information for the public  on chess in Cork. Get your updates  to the chairman this week so we can get them to Steve Broekhuizen -Cork chess would like to wish Cork FM the very best of luck !!
